ASP.NET 2.0 - browser refresh repeats operation

How do you prevent browser "Refresh" action from repeating the last
operation (e.g. button click event) of my aspx page?

I'm experiencing something similar using the 2.0 LoginView control. When
selected there are two page 'clicks' and a noticeable latency as if there
are two events occurring.
