Attachments Blocked

I hope this is the right newsgroup to ask this question. A neighbor of
mine is not receiving attachments that we send her. She is using Netscape.
I've tried reading the online manual but don't see any place where
preferences would allow a person to block attachments. Is it possible that
somehow there's been a default setting that she doesn't know about? She is
using Sympatico as her ISP -- maybe they're incompatible?
