Controls don't appear - Newbie Question

I've created some Web forms containing both HTML & Server
Controls, (Buttons). When I run through Visual Studio they
work fine - and the code behind executes. WHen I run
straight from the browser, same machine OR upload to a
host server, only the HTML appears. NO Server controls
show.

Is there a configuration option or something that needs
setting ?
