Is it okay to create a thread in ASP.NET or to get one from the Thread pool?
I want to notify a remote server without affecting the execution of my site.
My site will update a RFQ log file, then notify a service/deamon on another
server that this event has occurred. The sevice will poll the log
infrequently in case the notify mechanism failed. I'm thinking about a
solution like this because we have lost RFQs because of the unreliable
nature of the email system. Any thoughts?
