Databind Method and System.Web.UI.WebControls.Table

I am mainly just curious, but why do classes such as the Table have a
DataBind method when they don't have a method for attaching to a datasource?

Because the class from which Table inherits has a virtual implementation of
the method. Virtual members must be implemented in subclasses.
