Funny, your little applet says I have "Windows XP"
but "uname"

"uname".. from the command line, ..on Win?
..says I have "Windows_NT"
and I have an environment variable "OS=Windows_NT"
in reality I have Windows XP Professional

I get Windows XP when using "os.name" with
Sun 1.5, but Win NT using the MSVM. I guess
Sun VM figures it is Win XP after reading the
'Win NT' string returned by the OS, combined
with the OS version number.

(whispers) Oh, ..and those 'extreme'
boys? ..I'll just hope they're not
listening right now. (shhhhh) ;-)
