Easiest way to call a COM Object from Java ?

I have to call a COM object from Java.

Is there somewhere a sample on how to do this?

I guess I need some extra software or is it possible by pure JNI technology?

This extra software typically uses JNI. Search (google) for something
that is called a Java-COM bridge. There are many.

IBM's Bridge2Java (also known as "Interface Tool") can access Windows
COM objects. Comes with sample code etc.
