Have you even tried doing a 5 colour print job using CMYK and a spot
colour?

The GIMP's print capabilities are improving, but aren't there quite yet.
But I fail to see what relevance a 5 colour print job has to alt.html.

We were debating the merits of Gimp vs CS2 and their capabilities,
(which is OT to begin with). The post I was replying to contains enough
context to clarify the relevance of the statement.

Except the OP requested a vector drawing program, and Gimp isn't one.
I'd recommend Inkscape. By the time SVG makes into browsers you're ready
with all your compatible graphics at hand.

Another cool thing about inkscape is you can write plugins using scripting
languages web programmers are likely to already be familiar with.

Might not be what the OP was looking for, but is really useful for
repetitive tasks.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Image Ready, and Adobe Illustrator.
These programs are available for 30-day trial download from
www.adobe.com. If you like the programs you can register them for the
full-version.
