Help!!! EnableMenuItem is not working...

[beginner]

I want to load a menu and disable some items based on a condition. The
disabling of some items is not working.

The following is the code I was trying. Any suggestions.

CMenu *pMyMenu = new CMenu;
pMyMenu ->LoadMenu(IDR_MENU_MYMENU);

if(condition)
{
pMyMenu->EnableMenuItem(ID_SELECT, MF_BYCOMMAND | MF_GRAYED);
pMyMenu->EnableMenuItem(ID_CHANGE, MF_BYCOMMAND | MF_GRAYED);
