Hot deployment possible for Sun Java System ApplServer ??

From JBoss I know that it is possible to deploy jar and war archives during the runtime
of JBoss AppServer. Is this also possible for Sun Java System Application Server ?

If yes, for what purpose is the "deploytool" ?
