Is is possible to call a Mozilla plugin from Java

Hi,

I have a mozilla plugin that provides a javascrip interface to an
application (VLC - VideoLan Media Player) written in C that I would
like to call from within a Java application. Is this possible? If so
how? Can someone either post an example or appropriate links?
