Yes, it is. Version 8 sucks a bit (im still on 7), but im pretty sure those issues will be fixed.

like any programming language, PHP also has its drawbacks. Some critics argue that it can be inconsistent in its naming conventions and lacks a standardized library structure. But still it is good!

It's a hard question like this,

Php is so close with C/C++ writing.( very good point this one !! )

it can interacts with system by shell command,
now Linux or Windows System can run it.

It's at the beginning a Apache Module, but now it fits IIS too.

You have lot of module/components to work with :

• all DB system Access : Sql Server / My SQL / Oracle
• Xml
• CSV files ( excel files and pals )
• JSON

it can be OOP style, or sequential

php is always update, and new version are created. ( Php is not dead at all )

By history it's near 30 years of success, and a lot of coders/users. a big piece !
