Java.net redirect problems

java.net (where you get jdk 1.7, truezip etc) has been ill the last
few days. Today Oracle did a very odd thing. They PERMANENTLY
redirected every page on java.net to oracle.com/index.html

I think this was just a mindless mistake. Beware if you have code
that automatically makes corrections to your HTML for permanent
redirects.

One of the curses of the computer age is manufacturers now design
home appliances to die on the very day the warranty expires.
It is deliberate waste in the service of mindless profit.
