javadoc: @inheritDoc and first sentence

I am trying to do something like this:

/**
* {@inheritDoc}
* <p/>
* <b>Note:</b>&nbsp; This method also does the following other
* cool things....
*/

I'm sure that you can see the problem. The javadoc tool doesn't pay any
attention to the period in the inherited comments, so everything above
is interpretted as the "first sentence".

Is there any way around this (other than an ugly double period)?
