JCA 1.5 Resource Adapter for CVS

H

Harps

Hi

First post here, ill appogise now for any screw ups made durring this
post

After a bit of advice really.

I am writting an application that needs to interact with CVS, checkout
- comit - tag etc. I have been told that the best way to do this will
be writting a JCA compiant Resource adapter for our App server
(Jboss).

Is this overkill?

We have standardised on JBOSS as our application server, so there is
no benifit as far as porability.
We wont be using CVS for future projects

Many Thanks

Given your last paragraph, JCA might be a bit much because there is
some complexity. However, if you see some benefits and are willing to
undertake it, we should be able to help you. You might start with my
article on JDJ Online, "Understanding JCA" (http://sys-con.com/story/?
storyid=46283&de=1). It describes the basic framework. The built-in
cci interfaces would probably be best to use.
