jvmstat with jdk-1.4.2

Hi,

the FAQ of jvmstat says that it works with 1.4.2 the installation
description says it needs 1.5. I don't want to move to 1.5, can I use
jvmstat with 1.4.2?

apparently it is supposed to work. I have a similar problem, but I
need to run jvmstat on freebsd, so I can't just copy the 1.5 files for
Linux onto a FreeBSD box and have it work. or?

why on earth did Sun feel they had to remove the 2.0 and 1.1 versions
from the net? does anyone out there have the 2.0 version lying
around? I'd be really grateful if anyone could let me have it.
