Skip that word from your dictionary, it does not apply to web authoring.
Web authors can merely *suggest* and Web users have a choice to accept,
reject or use alteratives. The more the author tries to 'force', the
less the user can make choices. The outcome of that is in most cases a
negative one. Acceptance of not being able to force anything will also
unburden you as an author in a great way.
There has been an interesting and lengthy discussion going on in this
group. You must have just missed it, since the thread title is very
clear, "Opening fullscreen windows using JavaScript".
