modem initializing

I have a problem in my program in order to open the port and dial a
number,the program receives a number from Id_edit in the dialog box
wich it's member variable is "number" but after I press dial botton I
receive "Error:invalid property value" but there is no any error in my
program.
please help your new friend!

And here you create another variable called 'number'
and never assign anything to it
