Hi!

I just started with a company that relies extensively
on .NET. What books/manuals/etc. would be recommended for
me to start learing it?

Is it something I can get to put on my home desk top? Is
it real expensive or can I get a free/almost free version
somewhere?

Thanks!

Hi,

if you want to do ASP.NET Development, you can download the .NET Framework
1.1, ASP.NET and ASP.NET Web Matrix (development tool)
for free from http://www.asp.net See also the QuickStart Tutorials on this
site !

I'm not sure if you're asking for development tools, or for third party
books. If the latter, I'd recommend you check into
http://safari.oreilly.com.

For a nominal fee ($10/mo - $25/mo) you have on-line access to hundreds
of .NET books (as well as thousands of others). It's been a life-saver
for me.

(No connection with O'Reilly, just a happy customer.)
