One row for a repeater

Hello all!
I have just discover how cool repeaters and datalist are. But I was
wondering if I can supply 1 row at a time. I have a table of employee
profiles. Birthday, hiredate, region are my columns. So I can disply my data
in a nice layout. But what if I want only the info for 1 employee (1 row) to
show up. How would I do that?

Ok, So I figure out the 1 row at a time. "Alternate Item" worked pretty well.
And I wanted to have a certain row selected, I could just build that variable
in my select statement or store procedure. I guess ideally I would like the
user go from his "Edit Profile" page, and hit view, and be able to see his
info in a nicely layed out repeater. What's the best way to pass on that
variable?
