Did any of you test
Symantec Norton Ghost 10.0
Symantec Norton SystemWorks 2006 Premier
Symantec Backup Exec 10d
and
Symantec LiveState Recovery
?
Were you satisfied?
Which are the main differences among these softwares?

Absolutely! and relieved too...

There are no main differences. Only subtle ones.

Do they let you back up files automatically into CDs while running a
software such as
SPCS Administration 500, in case you know that?

Backup Exec, originally by Vertias, but recently bought out by Norton is
pretty much the king of backup software.

There are versions for Windows, UNIX, Netware, DOS and probably other
operating systems too. There is also a "bare iron" version, that doesn't
need an operating system -- which is handy for restoring your system if
the operating system was wiped as part of the damage!

It can connect to various databases including Oracle, DB2 and Microsoft
SQL to backup database structures, which makes for far better, and
finer-grained restoration than backing up the raw data files. It can
connect to Microsoft Exchange servers similarly, allowing single mailboxes
and even individual messages to be backed up and restored.

It can backup to tape, network drives, USB drives or CD-R.

It's very expensive, but if your data is important to you, it's probably
worth it.

For cloning HD to an other HD, making an image of the HD to a HD or
burning on a CD/DVD-R, works perfectly. I normally work with a
DOS-version of Ghost with a bootable floppy for cloning a HD.
Your separator miss a space after the last "-".
The separator must be "-- ".

That sounds great.
Does the software require much space on the HD?
Which kind of processor is required?
And how much does it cost?

Do both Veritas and Symantec sell it now?
Does the software allow backup at a remote server as well?

For one who 'designs' websites you don't seem to know how to use them...
