PageIndexChanged

All~
I've scoured the net and the newsgroups and I cannot for the life of
me figure this out. I have a datagrid that, when AutogenerateColumns
is turned on, fires off the PageIndexChanged event - if I turn the
Autogenerate off, it fails to fire.

I found an MS KB article that suggested putting the event handler in
the aspx file as opposed to code behind - I tried this and it still
fails to work.

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to why this is occuring?
