Problem with menu control and gridview

I'm using VS2005, and I'm using the ASP.Net menu control. My submenus
are displaying underneath my gridview controls, and are therefore
getting cut off so the user can't see the entire menu item. The z-
index seems to have no effect as well.

I've seen some solutions to similar problems using IFRAMEs, but I
don't think those people were using the built-in menu control from
VS2005.

Does anyone have a solution for this? It seems like a waste to have a
menu whose subitems are displayed underneath other controls on the
page.
