run a asp.net 2.0 local website

Since moving to Visual Studio 2005, I cannot open my localhost sites within
internat explorer unless I open Visual Studio, open the project, run the
site in debug mode, which starts the asp developer server. Why is this, and
what can I do to open my localhost sites without opening Visual Studio?

Run them in IIS, not the built-in webserver (aka Cassini).

Thanks for your help. I tried that, I created a virtual director, and now
when I attempt to access it I either get "directory doesn't exist or is not
accessible because of security settings", or I get a logon dialog box, as if
I'm not logged in to the network, and I
am. I am using sql with integrated security, and the app in IIS is set to
integrated security, and my web.config has identity impersonate=true.

There isn't anything different than before, and all my visual studio 2003
programs still run, even the program that now does not run in 2005. What
else can I try?
