text formatting within <textarea> tags

Hi,

If I have wrapping turned on for a <textarea> element, I reach the end
of a row and input text wraps, I need to be able to insert spaces
into the remaining columns of the previous row in the textarea.

Does anyone have an algorithm or know how to do this easily ?
