"the applet is killing my browser" problem

Hi guys,
i got a friend
his jre is 1.5.0_05.

The thing is whenever he is having applets running on his machine, all
his browser (using i.e.)
will be turned off automatically. He asked me and i have no idea.
So what do u guys can say about this.

Shouldn't be possible, after all an unsigned applet must not manipulate
its sandbox in such a manner. Could you be a bit more specific then
"turns off"?

Probably using MSIE, this is known to stall . Ff works like a charm for
me.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I will look into the suggestions.
By the way, my friend did update his jre. He actually had installed
j2sdk 1.5.0_06, hence having the latest jre for his msie browser.
Currently, he is not having this problem any more.
