Time manipulation

A pointer please, to the appropriate docs for manipulating time values?

Or, perhaps I misunderstand my problem.

I am getting some values out of a mysql database, in Time format, and I want
the difference between them.

Is there actually an extant class that will do what I want, or do I need to
create a Calendar object to stuff my times into so I can convert them into
milliseconds, then subtract them, to get the difference?
