GridView and a rowspaning edit template

Hi

I want to add a panel that spans across the entire GridView (Table) in the
edit template. The EditTemplate as i Can see it as per Coloumn. Eg one for
Name and one for Street.. But if i want to replace the row with eg a Panel
or a Custom usercontrol how can i do that? (Select event would be just as
fine by the way)
