how to have button not get focus during tabbing in window?

Hello,

I have been trying to deal with the issue of the default button that
gets clicked when a user hits enter.

As has been suggested on these newsgroups, I employed the strategy of
creating a tiny (invisible to user) button that I have listed before
my other buttons on my page. This serves the purpose of being the
"default" button so that nothing happens on click of the enter key.

This is working pretty well, but there is a little annoyance I am
hoping someone can help with. When someone tabs around the window,
the little button obviously gets the focus at some point.

I don't want the "fake" button to get focus at all. But, disabling
it, etc. defeats the purpose in the first place.

Any suggestions?
