Options for viewing word docs and editing from withing asp.net

Discussion in 'ASP .Net' started by =?Utf-8?B?dHRob21wc29uMjAwNw==?=, Sep 20, 2004.

  1. We have document templates on the server that need to be merged with data
from our Database and then allow users to review and possibly modified before
being printed. I have done this in VB 6 client server environment fairly
easily, but seems to be a challenge in asp.net. Any suggestions on how to
    accomplish this?

    1. Can a word doc be accessed and modified from a browser
    2. Does the document have to be located on the web server or can it be on a
    network share.
    3. Might we create an active X control that is downloaded to the client
that let's us do this a little easier?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
