WebServifying a library

Hi;

I need to make my reporting package a web service. Any suggestions as
to what I should look at? (I want to make it stand-alone and not
require WebLogic or another app server.)

Thanks - dave

David,

Writing a stand-alone web service to provide one API is actually a very
poor idea. Are you sure that your requirement is to be stand-alone? Or
is it to not require any non-free third-party server? If the latter,
look into AXIS and Tomcat.

If you really need to write your own web service from scratch, then you
should start by reading the various RFCs for the HTTP protocol, and the
specification for SOAP, and start coding; in a month or so, you can
probably have something ready for testing.
