asp:textbox error

If I try to put some invalid input (<TEST>) into a asp:textbox and attempt
to submit the data, I get a server error response:
Server Error in '/XTAPIADMIN' Application.

Runtime Error

I really don't like this error and would like to capture it so I can give a
more useful error. The problem is this error is generated prior to my C#
handler being called on the server side. Does anyone know a way to handle
this? Thanks.

It would be helpful if you turned off customerrors so we could see the
actual problem. This is probably an error because validateRequest isn't set
to false, check out:
