.aspx/?a random number

Hi,

I've seen certain websites that pass variables into an aspx page. this
is usually for accessing a certain page

example. http://www.hello.com/default.aspx?PageID=2

Can some one point me in the right direction to achieve this, as there
is no mention in the books I am reading.

That is what is called QueryString parameters. They are used for all sorts
of things. What exactly do you want to know?
