Can we foresee any big changes for Ruby in year 2008?

Hi,

I understand this question is a little bit "earlier" before Ruby 1.9.x debut
in Dec. 2007.

There will be many big changes in 1.9 release like new VM and M17N based
strings.
Matz has explained that after 1.9 release the following deliveries will be
the version to patch on 1.9 to include people's feedback for 1.9.

However, if we look further through year 2008, is there any other big
changes ( like VM or M17N ) for Ruby that are going to happen?

Is there any place I can find the "roadmap" or "release plan" for the
evolution of Ruby?

This is akin to a team that suffered, sweated, agonized over building a
castle for the last 3 years and when the last rock was about to be
placed, a noble from the back asked when the mote would be started. The
noble was immediately gagged and eventually hanged but that was another
story...

The story had a happy ending as all the castle builders locked
themselves up with a fast comp, 2 maidens each, and Ruby 1.9 which
eventually lead to the singularity theorem being realized within the
span of 2 short weeks.
