can't see database tables

hey all,
what security config do i need to make my tables appear in the list on the
Add Connection dialog page? i'm logged into machine as administrator but i'm
not sure after that (please see quick screencast below).

It does not appear as if your logon has any permissions on the server for
any database. You need to make sure your logon can access at least one
database. If this is not the case, what version of SQL Server and are you
running SP1 on Visual Studio 2005?

everything is inside one virtual pc. i'm using sql express and i don't think
i have sp1. i am using the localhost instead of the file system though.
because when i use the file system i can see the tables.
