Composite Control - How to Expose a Child Control

I am building a composite control that contains (among other things) a
Label control. In order to allow users to set the Text, Font and other
properties of the Label, I would like to expose the Label control as a
high-level property of my composite control. I have been able to make
the Label visible in the Properties window of my composite control, but
I have been unable to get everything working no matter how I tweak
PersistenceMode, DesignerSerializationVisibility, CreateChildControls,
etc.

Could someone please post a working example of exposing a Label from
within a composite control?
