Computer's drives

Hi all, here's my problem.
I've got to collect some information about the drives in a computer.
With the hd I've no problems, I use the GetDriveType Api. But how can I
know if a cd-rom drive is a writer, a dvd or somthing else
(GetDriveType tells me they are all cd-drives).
In the end, how can I know if a removable drives is a floppy, a usb pen
or something else?

Pretty sure you will need to ask this in a newsgroup dedicated
to your platform or compiler. The standard C++ language does not
know from API calls to determine storage type.

Since you didn't even say what platform you are working on, it
can't be that important, so we get to guess. My guess is, the
Timex Sinclair Z80 based computer does not support hard disks.

I work on windows xp, using MSVC++

Then go to comp.os.ms-windows.programmer and look for the subgroup that
will most likely have a decent answer for your question.
