controls in placeholder were lost after postback

hi

i developed a user controls in a web application. the user controls will be
created dynamically and put them into a placeholder. when i click a buttom,
all controls with data are lost. i spent 3 days to find a solution. but...

some articles said using viewstate can fix it. but i still don't understand
how it work. could somebody give me an example? or other mathods can avoid
this problem.

how about using custom control? it have the same problem? please tell me

in my web application, user controls will be loaded into a placeholder
dynnamically depend on the number of parameters of SP. filling value to user
controls. then submit these data to server and diaplay the previous user
contorls with value. maybe some controls will added again. this is the
background of my project.

please help me. i have been thinking this problem for 4 days

I just Reload and it works. It appears the APS.Net engine is not fast enough
or goes down often.

i would like to know how saveviewstate and loadviewstate work. this control
is suitable for me because i used a user control i wrote. it store the value
of 4 parameters.

do you have other idea?
