create a java application

[java_infant]

hi. am a novice in java...am exposed to core java only..:!:
but i want to create a complete application in java..
application will have gui and is NOT web based...
i dont even know what concepts are now required fr this..
please tell what i should learn :help: and also suggest some books..

but i hav completed the initial phase:veryprou:.. developed class and atributes. psedocode.. now hav to start coding..
