Debugging: Detecting infinite loops

Hi ng,
how can I detect infinite loops consuming 99% of computing time?
This probably happens because of logic errors, but I need a
method to log the source of this error. The application is
a multi-user web-app

the easiest way would be to use a profiler and check for the method that
consumes the most cycles
