Eclipse synchronization - showing ONLY files with conflicts

Gary Whitten

I have been using Eclipse for a while and I like it a lot. My big
aggravation has been with CVS synchronization. My main question is
when synchronizing and merging a project how do you ONLY visit files
with CONFLICTS. There are hundreds of files in the project and maybe
only 4 or 5 that require merging, yet ALL files are shown and appear
equivalent. If I have to "visit" hundreds of files to find the few that
actually require merging, synchronization will be unmanageable.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to deal with this and get CVS
synchronization to work properly?

** all Eclipse specific groups I could find focus **
** on Eclipse development NOT useage **

Thanks,

There are three separte choices in the CVS perspective you can choose to
look at: outgoing, incoming, conflicts. The conclicts one is the red
arrows pointing in both directions. Double click the file (hopefully
java) and you will get a nice compare editor showing you the diffs b/t
what you have and what you're buddy submitted before you. Merge the two,
right click on the file choose 'mark as merged', and then commit it.

Andrew,
If someone can suggest a relevant group for discussing Eclipse
useage, I will be happy to use it. Otherwise, this group is
for Java programming - Eclipse is a Java programming tool -
therefore it is the most appropriate group I am aware of.

You might try comp.lang.java.softwaretools but then I don't see
anything wrong with posting here. Hell were it not for fear of
flamethrowers, I'd suggest cross posting. Not that I am suggesting
crossposting. No-siree.

Are you saying the softwaretools group
is _not_ relevant to your eclipse problem?

I don't understand.

Even more curious, why have you not responded to Randy?
