EMBED question

My basic problem is that I wish to insert an SVGZ file in an
HTML page, and <embed> has issues.

Am I really stuck migrating to XHTML to get consistency across
browsers?

Thank you.

XHTML does nothing whatsoever to improve consistent behaviour.

It's not the <embed> tag, it's the process of embedding content that
browsers don't commonly handle natively that causes problems.

I do not understand what the difference means, here.

My ignorance! That's what!!

So I searched the web, and came up with the <embed> tag and some other
stuff that I don't understand. Plus, I posted here, but not much luck so
far.

A SVG editor with better capabilities than Illy CS is one of the things
that I need. It would be a good idea if I learned some XML and XHTML,
too.

*grinning*

You've already been given the few pieces needed to complete this simple
puzzle, the fact that you failed to do so suggests that posting any
"ready made" code here would not address the real issue (your lack of
understanding).

A fine example, you continue with the mistaken belief that xml and/or
xhtml have anything to do with your question.

I just spent 4 hours of reading up on xml and xhtml ... bleagh!
So, now I am better prepared to ask a good question.
