Framework 2.0 and 1.x

Teemu Keiski

Hi,

Framework 2.0 represents improved set of classes over 1.x in several
assemblies of the Framework Class Library. Difference is that 1.x is older
one (1.0 from year 2002 and 1.1 from 2003) and 2.0 (2005) is the newer,
having lots of improved in every area of the functionality such as 64-bit
support, Generics, enchanced functionality in VB.NET and C# etc etc

See: What's New in the .NET Framework Version 2.0

If I already have downloaded Framework 1 do I have to uninstall it to
download and use Framework 2.0?
Does it use IIS as well? And the same version of IIS?

You can run both versions side-by-side with no problems. Both work fine with
IIS but ASP.NET 2.0 is preferable because it makes configuration easier.
