getting space in controls client id

i am using a control in javascript function like this
document.forms[0].elements['<%=hdnRefID.ClientID>'].value='';

i m getting space in client id i.e. client id is prefixed by some spaces

In another javascript function on the same page, it is giving correct client
id

Any idea
