Gnome2 panel applets?

Is it possible to create panel applets for Gnome2 using the ruby-gnome2
bindings? It says so at http://developer.gnome.org/arch/lang/, but
looking at the sources, I'm not seeing anything allowing it.

Lacking ruby bindings, I'll be forced to use the python bindings, but
I'm not exactly relishing the idea...

AFAIK this feature is still under development, and therefore has not
been released yet.

But feel free to give us a hand on this, if it is an urgent need.

K. I hacked on the CVS version of 'panel-applet' a bit this afternoon
and got a (minimally) working panel applet, in Ruby.

Is there a more appropriate mailing list for this discussion to take
place on? And how should I get my hacked-together version to the correct
persons?
