how can I block a thread until some other thread finished?

I start a thread A. In A, I start thread B,C,D,...

How can I block A until B,C,D,...(All the thread started by A) finished?

Or, if the number is indeterminate, save them in a list when
creating each thread, then loop over the contents of the list doing a
..join() on each entry..

t.join()
