How do I read a clas during deployment/start up

Hi,

I am using EJB/J2EE to develp a web system.

When I deploy a newly compiled set of code I need it a class to load,
so that I can read a xml file's contents and store that value in the
servlet context.

How do I do this?

Is it through the web.xml?

Is it through the application.xml?

If neither of these then how??

Can you tell me which tags do I need to use to do this if it is a xml
file.
