How to validate the user and reterive password in ldap?

I am using ApacheDS.
I am logged-in as a Admin user.
I need to validate the given any user name whos is an authorized user or not.
I am not having password credentials for the given users.
Also need to get the pasword of an given user.
Pls provide code sample.
