Internet Explorer link problem on an aspx page

Forgive me, but I know absolutely nothing about asp coding. My
question is regarding an issue a colleague of mine is having in
Internet Explorer on a website who's URL's have aspx at the end. The
website is using frames ( I assume because regardless what I click,
the URL stays the same). Anyway, when I click on an aspx link on this
site, it goes to the link only for a second, then goes right back to
the original page. But if I choose the very same link from a drop
down menu on the same page, it goes there and stays there. I copied
the shortcut from both links, and they are the same. Also, note that
it is not just one link where this is happening. But the symptoms are
the same. Links that are hyperlinks on the web page go to the
destination briefly then come back, and the same links in the drop
down menu go there, and stay there. The final piece to this mystery,
is that this is only happening on one computer. The computer is
running Windows XP Pro just like the others. So far we have tried
resetting the browser settings back to default, deinstalling and
reinstalling Internet Explorer, as well as upgrading to IE 7. At this
point I am convinced it has nothing to do with the browser, but am at
a loss as to what else it might be. I would provide a link to the
site, but it requires a login, so that would be useless. Any input
would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Hi Bayxter,

Compare IE Security settings on the machines that do and don't work.
(Tools>Internet Options - Security tab). This is the easiest way to correct
the problem.

When you say the site is secure, I assume you mean it is https? If the site
is in your Trusted Sites Zone and you have 'Require https' checked ensure
the link is to a https and not an http domain.

BTW. aspx is the .net version this is the 'classic' asp NG.

asp.net NG

microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.aspnet

Internet Explorer NG is

microsoft.public.internet.explorer.general
