Interpreting HTML in gridview (didn't it do this for a datagrid?)

I have tried to upgrade my code to use a gridview instead of a
datagrid.

My datasource is a dataset, and the dataset contains embedded HTML
(i.e., <HR> and <BR> tags). The datagrid would interpret and render
the HTML, but the gridview would not. Is there a way to do this, or
should I go back to the datagrid? The gridview is being built into a
webpart, and as such this is all done in a "code-behind" fashion.
